Justice For All Condemns The Call To Genocide of Muslims at Haridwar Dharma Sansad
Justice for All strongly condemns the recent calls for genocide made during a Hindu religious conference (Dharma Sansad), from December 17-19th in the Indian city of Haridwar. The speakers were senior Hindu religious leaders, all aligned with the Nazi inspired ideology, Hindutva. The same ideology of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Open and blatant calls for a genocide of Muslims were made at this gathering. Pooja Shakun Pandey, a leader of Hindu Mahasabha, said “If 100 of us are ready to kill two million of them, then we will win and make India a Hindu nation,”. The conspiracy that Indian Muslims pose a danger to Hindus, which make up 80% of the population, was openly propagated with calls to “… protect ‘sanatana dharma’”. Sanatana Dharma is an absolute form of Hinduism espoused by Hindutva aligned leaders. Many other leaders also repeated the call for the mass-murder of Muslims, and for Hindus to take up arms with the call “Shashtra mev jayate” (Only weapons triumph).
The conference was led by Swami Yati Narsinghanand, a frequent instigator of hate and violence against Indian Muslims, and one who has called for an ISIS like Hindu army to oppose Islam in India.
“Yati and his followers are spreading a dangerous ideology. They control the minds and the actions of thousands of followers. This is no longer a fringe extremist outfit. They have the blessings of the umbrella organization of the largest bodies representing Hindu religious men. If that should not concern us, I do not know what should?” said Zahir Adil, of the Save India from Fascism project of Justice For All.
The Indian government has chosen to remain silent on this matter, further exposing Prime Minister Modi’s tactical approval of these groups. India has laws against inciting hate but none of the speakers have been charged so far. No Indian official has even tweeted against this call. We call upon the Indian government to immedtitely condemn these calls and denounce this religious conference which degraded into one promoting hate and murder.
The United States cannot be a bystander to what might result in open attacks and murders of Muslims, even if it does not immediately reach genocidal proportions. We urge Americans, and especially Hindu Americans to raise their voice and condemn this call for mass-murder. We also urge you to contact your elected officials, senators and representatives on this matter.
